On the 5th October 2017, the Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Training and Innovation, Dr. Iitah Kandji Murangi inaugurated EVTC Production Unit, which consists of seven workshops for the following trades:
- Bricklaying and Plastering
- Electrical and Solar installation
- 2x Joinery and Cabinet Making
- Welding and Metal Fabrication plus Plumbing and Pipefitting
- 2x Panel Beating and Spray Painting
The main Purpose for the production unit is to take in trainees for job attachment during community projects engagements as well as to activate graduates in vocational skills.
On the same date, The Minister also held a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of EVTC hostel, which is going to be a self-catering and it will accommodate 80 trainees.
